James is the Director of the Select Commercial Business in the Central Region with a focus on the Energy Sector. In this capacity, Hardie leads a diverse team of sales, technical, marketing and services
professionals who are responsible for delivering sustained business value through Google Cloud’s
business to our top global enterprise accounts. James’ performance metrics include driving Google
Cloud’s business, customer satisfaction, partner ecosystem health, strategic competitive wins, employee morale and career development, marketing effectiveness and community relations.
Hardie has a 30 year history of leading digital and technology transformations for his clients. He joined
Google in October 2019 from Microsoft, where he ran the Azure business for the commercial business in
the South Central Region for the prior 5 years. As part of his 20-year tenure at Microsoft, he led a
number of $300M+ businesses including the traditional Enterprise, Communications Sector, Dynamics and Azure businesses.
Prior to Microsoft, he was instrumental in an early stage startup, Hire.com, helping them create a first-mover advantage in the Human Capital Software-as-a-Service space. James is known as a thought leader in cloud strategy, disruptive technologies, digital marketing and culture.
